Purchasing a raffle ticket, where you have the possibility of winning a prize, is not deemed a gift by the Australian Tax Office. Ticket purchases are not tax deductible.
You sure do. The whole idea of the Big Day Off is that you get an extra day of paid annual leave. If you’re a casual employee you’ll need to have a chat with your employer about how the Big Day Off will work for you.
That my friend is completely up to you! You can do whatever makes you happy, for some that might be getting an extra few hours sleep, for others it might be the perfect time to try skydiving.
A paid day off work. We may offer additional prizes throughout the competition however these are not a part of the day off and are treated as separate competitions.
As many as you like! The Big Day Off is a raffle, so the more tickets you buy, the better your chances are of winning.
If your employer is offering more than one day off and you buy more than one ticket then you have the chance to win more than one day off! You are not automatically excluded from the remaining days off available after winning one.
No you can’t. The Big Day Off is designed to give you the chance to do anything you want for a day, not to make a few extra dollars.
Winners are decided by random using the Big Day Off website. No person has any influence over who wins.
On the first weekday in July the computer will do its thing and select the winners for each day off on offer. After this has happened we’ll send you an email to let you know. We’ll also send an email to your boss with the names of the winners, just to keep you honest!
